Calcium Carbonate Equivalent (CCE)

The purity of limestone is expressed as calcium carbonate equivalent (CCE). It is a measure of how much of the material can react with the soil to neutralize acidity under ideal conditions compared to pure calcium carbonate.

Limestone should have a neutralizing value of at least 90%. Liming material purity can range from 50-175%.

Much of the country’s AgLime contains many impurities; such as sand, clay, iron, sulfur, lead, and magnesium, which lower its CCE.

SuperCal 98G is usually 95 to 96 percent pure CoCo3 therefore almost all the product has the ability to neutralize the acidity.

Check out the purity of your lime or ask your dealer if you don't know.
